Strategy Statement:
Event
In my video, I want to express a feeling of "100 years' changing",  I've showed the building in two ways, 100 years before and 100 years after. The reason I make in this way because I'd like to show a distinct comparison with "before" and "after", to express audience a strong feeling of  contrast.
I also want to make the audience feel immersed in the video, whilst I try to avoid showing the character that is in order to exphasize 100 years after human. To achieve this, I make several flyby shots in first person in the video, making audience actually feel that they are viewing the building.
Landscape
The way I demonstrate the landscape is to use a variety of vegetation as decays or dead, to indicate this island has been abandoned for long time and no human lives. There are some signs that the area is suffering lightning strike and hail storm which indicates the are is not common and dangerous.
Architecture & Texture
I demonstrate that my chosen building-"Rudin House" has been abandoned after 100 years endured a number of various natural disasters. The construction of building has been destroyed for example, the roof has been fallen down, the walls has been ruined. I used variety of vegetation as decay textures to apply on the building. The blood spatter on walls metaphors a mysterious and dangerous atmosphere. Some major trees have fallen on various aspects of the building and have caused considerable damage. To conclude, the main issue of destruction is the dominance of various vegetation and a few natural hazards like acid rain and cyclone and earthquake.
Interactivity
To achieve the interactivity through the video, a helicopter has been crashed and exploded, to express a increasing feeling of crysis. To further exphasize this, I played a various sound clips in the background to make some areas feel nostalgic. Cracks building house, resulting in a lot of space where nature has taken dominion over the human made structure. Nature slowly engulfs the building from exterior to interior, as the concrete of the rundin house struggle to fight back the power of nature.

Ep2-Week3

Materials Research

 Glass:

-The main raw material used to make glass is sand. To make clear glass, a special sand called silica sand is used.
-This fine white sand is needed because it is very pure and does not contain other unwanted chemicals.
-Glass production also needs limestone, soda ash and other chemicals to colour the glass. The production of glass uses energy, both during the extraction of the sand as well as during transportation and processing. Large amounts of fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) are used during these stages, which in turn produce the greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide.
-Glass doesnt decompose. It does take a long time to become a solid, but glass now will be glass in millions of years. Some types of glass can be made to decompose by adding chemicals similar to what etching does to glass. The term devitrication refers to the decompositition of glass but this is under forced chemical changes and not something that's going to happen in a natural state. Glass takes thousands of years to become a solid. Glass darkens as it ages as well. Lava glass or obsidian is glass found in nature and can be dated back to the beginning of the Earth, and is still glass.

Concrete:
-Concrete is made out of mixing cement, sand and gravel together.
-The lifespan of concrete will depend on the design life, the environment and service condition, and preventative maintenance practices. Design life would roughly be around 50-70 years.
-Is widely used for making architectural structures, foundations, brick/block walls, pavements, bridges/overpasses, highways, runways, parking structures, dams, pools, pipes, footing for gates, fences and poles and even boats.
-Concrete can be damaged by fire, aggregate expansion, sea water effects, bacterial corrosion, calcium leaching, physical damage and chemical damage.

Marble:

-Marble is a non-foliated metamorphic rock composed of re-crystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite.
-Is commonly used for sculpture and building materials.
-Is susceptible to chemical weathering.
-Marble holds up better than limestone in both acid and unpolluted rainwater, but it will show signs of weathering in time. Water enter small holes in the marble at this point, worsening the weathering. This phenomenon is known as surface flaking.
-Weathering is the natural breakdown of rocks into smaller particle sized and different forms. Since marble is a metamorphic rock, the properties of marble and limestone are similar.

 Abandonment Refenrence Images

For my trailer and scene theme I have to think about the question of “What would happen if every human on Earth disappeared?" The various events that may occur after people disappear suddenly. I'd like to show the change of  Rundin House's before and after that have been abandoned by people.

Exp2-Week2-Independent Task

To begin with assignment 2, I've decided to use Rudin House for my experiment 2 model. I started re-modelling it from 3ds max. And then I apply the texture on and export it to cryengine. The problem I met was only a few faces of texture were shown and the others were lost. With Ros's help, I put on the textures for each face again in 3ds max and export them to cryengine.

Exp2-Week2-Tutorial Task

This week tutorial I've been watching the Specular and Bump maps tutorial and applying the textures on the walls. In the last week, the textures were not shown in Cryengine and I've solved the problems in the class with tutor's help. I've been playing with specular and bump textures by using crazybump software. I found this software it's quiet interesting and useful tool to edit the textures and therefore they looks more realistic.
